What we collect
When you set up an account we keep your name, email, password (stored securely, never in plain text), your business details and the services you list. When someone books you, we keep the name, email and phone number they type into your booking page, plus the date, time and any notes they add. Payment details are entered on Stripe's own checkout — we never see or store card numbers.
Payments
Deposits are handled by Stripe and go straight into your own Stripe account. PocketBiz doesn't hold the money and doesn't store card details. Stripe has its own privacy policy covering how it handles payment information.
What we use it for
Only to make the service work: showing your booking page, saving bookings, stopping double-bookings, sending booking reminders, taking deposits and creating invoices.
We don't sell your data
Your details and your clients' details are never sold or rented to anyone. We share information only with the services that keep PocketBiz running — for example Stripe for payments and our email provider for reminders.
Getting your data deleted
Email support@pocketbiz.co.uk and ask us to delete your account. We'll remove your account and booking records. Some records may be kept where the law requires it, such as payment records.
Why we're allowed to use it
Under UK GDPR we need a lawful basis for everything we do with your details. We rely on: contract — running the account and bookings you asked for; legal obligation — keeping payment and tax records; and legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, stopping fraud and fixing faults. If we ever want to send you marketing, we'll ask you to opt in first, and every such email will have an unsubscribe link.
How long we keep it
Bookings and client records stay while your account is open. When you close your account we delete them within 30 days. Payment and invoice records are kept for 6 years because UK tax rules require it. Email delivery logs are kept for up to 12 months.
Where your data is stored
Data may be stored or processed outside the UK, including in the United States, by the suppliers that run PocketBiz. Where that happens we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards. The full list of suppliers is in our Data Processing Terms.
Your clients' data belongs to you
When someone books you, you decide what happens to their details and PocketBiz simply handles them on your behalf. The Data Processing Terms set out exactly what we do and don't do with them.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are essential to signing in and taking bookings. See our Cookie Notice for the detail.
If there's ever a breach
If personal data is lost or exposed and it puts anyone at risk, we'll report it to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and tell affected people without undue delay.
Where we're based, and complaints
PocketBiz is a UK service and follows UK GDPR. You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have mistakes corrected, to have your data deleted, to object to certain uses, and to get a copy in a portable format.
